The Cuzqueña school, developed as a new mestizo expression product of religious icons implanted, but maintaining native roots based on native religiosity. For this reason, the most representative pieces can be observed birds, plants, food and decoration characteristic of the most ancient ideology of Peru. The cult of Mother Earth or Pacha Mama, is clearly reflected in the representation of the images corresponding to the Virgin Mary or female characters, whose figures seem to represent mountains or Apus. Likewise, the faces of the figures have the blush on the cheeks, typical of the natives.
